Although both value and growth China funds have generally posted losses over the three years ended July 2023, growth has lagged value by 12% a year, Liang said. However, she was quick to point out that just focusing on a single investment style such as value versus growth isn't enough. In terms of Morningstar's fund ratings — based on factors the firm calls people, process and parent — Schroder's ISF China Opps and FSSA China Growth have gold ratings for strong performance in the "people" and "process" categories. Closely watching valuations helped Schroders China's portfolio manager take some timely profits on "some overheated information technology" stocks, Liang said.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk pledged in 2014 not to "initiate patent lawsuits against anyone who, in good faith, wants to use our technology." The company says the legal action comes in response to a lawsuit that Cap-XX originally filed against Tesla subsidiary Maxwell Technologies in 2019 for patent infringement. Like Cap-XX, Maxwell makes capacitors for electric vehicles that increase their energy-storage capabilities. The patents that Cap-XX allegedly infringed relate to electrodes used in supercapacitors, which Tesla called the "primary source of the device's power capabilities." Tesla said the electrodes used in Cap-XX's supercapacitors work in the same way as Maxwell's patented technology.

BERLIN, June 16 (Reuters) - Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE) and a technology partner have mastered a battery manufacturing process called dry coating which if scaled up could cut the cost of cell production by hundreds of millions of euros a year, its battery chief said on Friday. "No-one else can do this today," battery chief Thomas Schmall said at a media roundtable. Dry-coating eliminates that step with an adhesive that does not require drying, Schmall explained. Together with scaled-up production and cheaper raw materials, the carmaker hopes the procedure will help bring down cell costs by around 50%, Schmall said. Tesla 4680 battery’s secret sauce: Dry electrode coating

March 10 (Reuters) - Tesla Inc (TSLA.O) is pioneering a new battery manufacturing process called dry electrode coating that it is applying to its new 4680 battery cells. The dry process, which Tesla obtained via its 2019 acquisition of California startup Maxwell Technologies, replaces a traditional, complicated step of battery manufacturing that involves coating the electrode foil with a wet, chemical slurry. The electric vehicle maker has said the dry coating process has the potential to dramatically reduce the size, cost, energy consumption and production cycle time of battery manufacturing plants, while boosting the energy density and power of battery cells. Besides Maxwell, other companies working on dry coating include California-based LiCap Technologies and Massachusetts-based AM Batteries.
